I had to take my baby to the doctor today. The thing about having cats as kids is that sometimes you take them to the doctor and you have to leave them there. This translates into a very worried mom so I’m trying to keep myself busy. I dropped off Bristol this morning
and then, after I stopped crying, I headed for Panera (yummy) to write a blog post squash my nerves with a souffle. Have you ever had one of these? If not I highly recommend it! They are a little piece of heaven on earth.

Right after I started pinning I found a website that had a recipe to make these at home but I haven’t tried it yet. I think I’m going to make that one of my September goals. They are so warm and delicious that coupled with a pumpkin spice latte it was the perfect breakfast on this almost fall morning.
Can you believe that fall is pretty much here? I looked in my yard yesterday and there were leaves on the ground! Leaves?!? Already!?! Where did the summer go? I have to say that I do love the colors of fall though. Our maple trees have started turning this gorgeous red-y color and I’m totally jazzed about that
Beau is not thrilled to see summer end because he will miss his days outside on the three seasons porch
I think Bella has started her winter sleep already.
We brought the doll highchair from the guest bedroom when we were watching our “proxy” nieces one week so Abby could feed her Gloworm. Michael taught Bella to get in the chair and he would give her treats. Then she started falling asleep in it. I really believe that Bella may be in a plot to rule the world. She now has us trained to give her treats when she gets in the chair. Funny, we’ve started going to a lot of kitty treats lately. Hmmmm.
Now that I’ve worked in some gratuitous pictures of my babies, I’ll get to the real subject of this post. Remember the curtains I made for the kitchen?

The truth of the matter is that I didn’t make all the kitchen curtains before that post. The curtains for the third window were just finished on Sunday (before my mom came to visit for her birthday dinner). I don’t think you’ve ever seen this window before because it’s kinda hidden from inside the house. On the outside it’s right in front. The window I’m talking about is this one
Ya see, pretty much since we moved in it has had these curtains that we found somewhere (not sure where) hanging up.
Blech! Just the color made the room so dark and you can see right through them. So it only took 20 months, but finally we have real curtains up!!!
We can’t see through these and they brightened up that part of the kitchen so much. One more step in the great curtain debate. I’m thinking you might be voting on curtains in another room or two once the deck chairs are finished. Have you read that post from yesterday? If not yesterday started something new that involves you. You get to help us with some design choices in our house. So if you haven’t done so already, head to that post and vote for your favorite color for our deck chairs

Then be ready to start voting next month too!

I love Panera’s souffles. If you end up doing the homemade ones you should try pairing with this homemade pumpkin spice latte recipe. http://onceamonthmom.com/pumpkin-spice-latte-on-a-budget/#comments I haven’t tried it yet but I plan to soon.
